VTG Japan Rare 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham 15 Tin Car Mint w/ Original Box. The photos are very recent and I hope give an accurate impression of this toys condition. It is being posted from Australia.
A big, beautiful Japanese tin car in the original box by Marusan. This fabulous Eldorado measures 15" long (38.1 cm) 4.25" tall (10.79 cm) and is 6 wide (15.24 cm). If you haven't held this toy in your hands, it is hard to imagine the fit, finish and beauty of the car.
The silver roof, replicating the stainless steel of the real Eldorado Brougham, virtually crowns the Kenya Beige Metallic paint. But to me, the interior is the crowning touch. It is so much like the original Cadillac Eldorado Brougham's of the mid 1950's and it is spectacular. If you don't have one of these wonderful cars in your collection, now would be the time while they are still available. Rubber tires, friction, blue celluloid windows, steerable front wheels, everything we all desire in an outstanding Japanese tin car. Please note that Marusan did not produce this car in the 1950's. It is a creation conceived of by toy collector and author Bill Gallagher and manufactured in 2001 using the same techniques employed in the 1950's.
This toy automobile was manufactured with the approval of General Motors and has now found a place of honor in Japanese tin automobile collections. It is not a reproduction; it is an original Marusan 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham. In 1957, General Motors Cadillac Division only produced 400 real Eldorado Broughams. The Kenya Beige Metallic is an actual color #148 offered by the Cadillac Motor Division. _gsrx_vers_586 GS 6.8 (586).
