VINTAGE MARUSAN TIN CAR BENZ RACER BATTERY OPERATED WITH BOX JAPAN 1950's #3355

VINTAGE "GO STOP BENZ RACER".... This is such a great looking tin car that is 10 long and made by Marusan Kosuge (SAN) of Japan. This car has some marking/scuffing from play, but great for the age in my opinion. The windshield is in place and tires in good condition. The battery lock has some paint missing on lock handle and nearby. The battery compartment does lock, but it looks a bit pryed where the lock fits in.

The compartment where the batteries fit is in good condition. Photos are for sure a lot of the description so please see them all. Important: I put batteries in this car and it worked when I switched the lever to forward and reverse.

(after I shimmed each battery at one end with a nickel at the contact, as the batteries were fitting too loosely). Seems sluggish/halting when moving on its own at times part of stop/go mentioned on box? , but I do not know how this is suppose to move or when it was last activated.

There is a light on the car, I do not know if this is suppose to light up? The box has worn top corners and a tear down one side. This will be packaged well and marked "Fragile". Thanks for looking and see my other items.
