Vintage Bandai Tin 1966 Cadillac Red Japan 1960s Battery Car Works Rare Repro Box - Working Condition Collectible from Japan. Bandai 1960s Made - 1966 Red Cadillac - Working Condition - Excellent Appearance - Approx. The box is a reproduction. The car body is complete with no missing parts.

However, the side mirrors are ABS reproduction parts, and the battery box cover is not original. The metal parts including the body, chassis, and battery box have a glossy finish with only minimal surface scratches. There is no rust or dents. There is some deterioration on the inside of the front left tire, but it does not affect the running performance. Functions with two new D-size batteries. Moving the right lever from OFF to "F" makes the car move forward with headlights on. Moving the right lever from OFF to "R" makes it reverse with headlights on. The left lever controls speed: "N" for idling, "LO" for low speed, and "HI" for high speed. Pressing the steering wheel activates the horn. Even if the switch is OFF, pressing the wheel will sound the horn once the batteries are installed.

Please remove the batteries when storing. The front wheels can be manually steered, although the mechanism is a bit stiff.

The Red Cadillac was modeled after the 1966 American luxury car, reflecting Japan's fascination with U. Battery-operated features were added to showcase Japan's emerging strength in consumer electronics. Targeted at both domestic and Western markets, the toy emphasized craftsmanship and realism. Produced in limited quantities by Bandai during Japan's postwar toy industry boom in the 1960s. Features a high level of craftsmanship typical of early Bandai battery-operated tin vehicles. Original complete units with working functions are extremely scarce today. This model is particularly rare due to its advanced multi-function lever system (forward/reverse, speed control, horn). Reproduced box and mirror parts suggest attempts at restoration, further proving the difficulty in locating complete original units. Authentic Bandai 1960s tinplate toy representing a 1966 Cadillac in vibrant red color. Fully functional battery-powered system with forward/reverse drive, adjustable speed, steering horn. Measures approximately 33cm (13 in) in length - a substantial size for a tin car of its era. Body and metal parts are in excellent condition with minimal wear, no rust or dents. Side mirrors and battery box cover are reproductions; box is also a repro.

Slight internal tire wear does not affect operation. Highly collectible and operational display piece for vintage Japanese toy collectors. Operates with 2 D-size batteries (not included), enabling full electric driving functions.

Forward and reverse movement with working headlights controlled by right-hand lever. Adjustable speed with 3 modes (N, LO, HI) via left-hand lever - rare for the era. It is very rare and surprising that a 65-year-old tin battery-powered toy still works the same way today. There is no peeling of the paint and it is in very good condition.
