TIPPCO Tipp & Co Silver Racer No. Made In Germany 1950's. Tin clockwork wind up side car racing motorcycle made by Tippco of Western Germany in the early 1950's.
Tippco called the bike a Silver Racer. 7-1/2" Long, 5" wide, and 5 Tall. What's interesting about the toy is that the side passenger , moves off from his seat as the motorcycle unwinds and moves around to the left and right. As it moves forward the co-pilot swings down in front of the third wheel and extends out into empty air.
His weight, now shifted far over to the left appears to force the cycle to counter-balance by also turning sharply left. The cycle completes the turn. Then the co-pilot moves back up into position directly above the sled which appears to straighten out the cycle's front wheel. It is complete, has a Very strong working clockwork and performing all actions with regard to the age but has surface rust and wear & paint damages all over the item. Working ON/OFF Switch, Item was cleaned by Oil. The item "TIPPCO Tin Wind Up Tin Toy, Silver Racer Side Car Motorcycle #5 Germany 1950's" is in sale since Thursday, September 22, 2016.
