The car measures 12 inches or 30 centimeters long and it is in complete condition. It is in very good, lightly played with condition. There are two main "flaws" I want to mention. The first is that the silver top of the car is not covered with the usual silver paint. Usually with the red body, you would expect to see a silver/gray paint on the top of the car.
This car has had its top completely polished to a bright shine. In other words, there is no paint of any kind on the top of the car, it is polished metal. It makes for a really interesting and striking look. Also, the back left hubcap has been heavily touched up. It is an original Yonezawa Opel hubcap, the correct hubcap for this car. The paint has just been restored. From any distance it isn't noticeable, you would have to be looking for it to notice it. (Photo #7) Apart from these two "problems", the car is completely original. The red paint has a nice gloss and a bright, vivid surface. The paint is in overall very good condition, there are some small scratches and chips. The chrome trim is in great shape, bright and shiny with only a few areas where the chrome has darkened. The "glass" or celluloid windows are original and in very good condition, slightly pulling away from the frame. The base and tires are om excellent condition and the friction motor works well.
This somewhat customized car has a really nice look. It is listed on page 165 of the great Big Book of Tin Toy Cars. Questions are welcome and I will be happy to provide additional photos.
