The base is original and in good condition with some minor scratching. The tires and hubcaps are not original to the car. The original tires on the car had deteriorated to the point where they were no longer stable; this seems to be a frequent problem with this early fifties car. Three of the tires have a repair to the place where the axle and tire meet; it was done on the inside of tire, behind the hubcap, so it cannot be seen.
For this reason, I will say that the car has been partially restored, although the body of the car itself is totally original. The only repair is to the tires.
This is a beautiful early fifties tin friction car is excellent condition. It is pictured on page 22 of the wonderful Big Book of Tin Toy Cars. Questions are welcome and I will be happy to provide additional photos.
