Schuco Radio 4012 Car/Thorens Music Box Near Mint
Schuco started making toy cars back at the beginning of the 20th Century and are still in business today. Production was suspended during WWII and post war toys show that they were made in U. Thorens started making music boxes in Switzerland back in the 19th Century and are still in business today making high end audio equipment.
Schuco produced two cars that incorporated Thorens music boxes... One in 1938 and this version from 1952 to 1964. The same key is used to wind both mechanisms. The steering wheel turns the wheels...
The silver lever on the passenger side controls the motor... The plastic lever on the dash controls the music box.
All original, everything works like new. The original owner wrote White Xmas on the box in pencil. The toy is pristine and the box is nearly so.
