This is a very rare cast iron floor train Stock Car made by Ideal in the early 1900s. It is very large and was meant as a standalone toy (does not belong to a larger floor train set). There are four cast iron horses attached to a sheet metal floor inside the stock car. There is a wire that runs from the sheet metal floor to one of the axles that makes the floor move back and forth as the toy is rolled along the floor (creating the appearance of the horses moving back and forth inside the stock car).

It is embossed Ideal and Stock Car on each side as well at Pat pending. It is burgundy with a gold stripe along the roof and gold highlights on the embossed lettering. The wheels are painted silver. 14 long x 4.5 tall x 3.5 wide Big Toy! Appears to have original paint with somewhat uneven wear.

One side is better than the other side (see photos). In the places where the paint is lost there is some surface oxidation (see photos). There is some very old black paint splatter on the roof (see photos). The wheels are silver in color and Ralstons book indicates these are normally yellow so it is possible the wheels were over painted at some point (although I do not see any evidence of the yellow).

Due to the somewhat uneven wear, I cannot completely rule out some very old touchups to the paint. Both original doors are present and working. The floor movement rod is connected to the axle and it works properly.

There are no cracks, breaks, or repairs to the cast iron. There are two holes on the roof that might have been for holding a standing figure, but there is no standing figure.
