Ohlsson & Rice Midget Gas Powered Tether Race Car

Original vintage Ohlsson & Rice Midget tethered racing car, circa early-1950s. Manufactured by Ohlsson & Rice, Inc. Designed originally as a scale model of a Lujie Lesovsky-built Offenhauser powered midget which won numerous races during the 1948 season at the famed Gilmore Stadium track. The O&R Midget racer is arguably the most realistic appearing tether car of the post-war era.

The paint and decals are original and are in excellent condition for its age, just some minor chips and scratches. It is powered by the original pull start. 049 engine and it has excellent compression.

The original pull start is there but will need to be repaired. 049 engine is rare and getting very hard to find.

This O&R is NOT a direct drive system so the rear wheels spin freely till the engine is started, once the engine starts the unique clutch drive system will engage sending power to the rear wheels.
