MECCANO CONSTRUCTOR CAR #1 1930's boat tail tin clockwork vintage tinplate toy

MECCANO MOTOR CAR CONSTRUCTOR No 1. NICE LOOKING VINTAGE CLOCKWORK CAR. Around 23 cm length / about 9 inches. Unusual green version (most seem to be red)...

Clockwork mechanism is still inside car. Car still with the old meccano tyres. Still has rear brake/exhaust pipe. Windshield, front bumper, grill and lights etc.. Front wheels can presently be manually turned by hand.....

/steering components want adjusting/setting up (i think the steering wheel, shaft are probably later replacement). Interior seating still in car. Early tin constructional toy, now some 80 + year old.....

Condition is nice, with expected age/play wear marking, chips, scuffs, dimples, scratches etc.. Some of the yellow parts, including wheel arches may have had some refreshing/touch up at some time? The car is nicely rust free and solid. Underside displays well with just age paint chips/wear. PLEASE CHECK ALL THE IMAGES TO SATISFY YOURSELF OF CARS COMPLETENESS OR ORIGINALITY. I don't have the original key, but any small enough one can be used to insert in winder shaft on the underside... I simply used a pair of small grips, with one claw inserted into shaft, to test mechanism.... The motor winds up easily and spins the rear axle.

The wheels/nuts may want some playing with as they are slipping a bit at present.... But the car still moved forward. I'VE ADDED A SHORT VIDEO CLIP BELOW, TO HELP YOU SEE.... PLEASE TRY CLICKING ON THE VIDEO LINK. VINTAGE OLD CAR STILL LOOKS NICE ON DISPLAY.
