LARGE TIN FRICTION 57 FORD FAIRLANE POLICE FAT CAR ANTENNA SIREN YONEZAWA JAPAN
The car measures 16 inches or 41 centimeters long and it is complete and all original with the exception of a replacement back window glass. The car is in good, played with condition. The paint is in good condition overall with a nice surface gloss. The black and white colors are very vivid. There are a number of small scratches and chips in the paint; it is most noticeable is on the sides of the top of the car where there is some pitting that can be seen clearly in photo #11.
The chrome trim is in very good condition with some areas where the chrome has rubbed off a bit, mostly in the windshield frames. The tires and hubcaps are nice and the friction motor works well. The interior is very nice; I have seen versions of this car where the interior is all part of the same large sheet of tin that makes up the whole body of the car. This car has a separate interior that is a separate piece of tin that fits into the body of the car.
This version seems nicer that the version that is usually seen. This car has a good deal of play wear, it was clearly well loved by someone but it is still a very nice, complete car. It is far from mint but still a very nice complete tin friction car. The car is pictured on page 99 of the great Big Book of Tin Toy Cars Commercial and Racing Vehicles. Questions are welcome and I will be happy to provide additional photos. I just noticed, it appears that there is a little touch up paint in the black paint where the car and base meet. There is also an area on the right fin that has some black touch up. Other than that the paint is original; the area of touch up is very small. The car is 6 1/2 inches or about 17 centimeters wide and 15 1/2 inches or almost 40 centimeters long instead of the 16 inches or 41 centimeters mentioned above.
