I feel it is original to this car. I think the car may have been opened up at one time.
There is a hole in the metal chassis at the front that confirms that a tab or screw? The original screws seem to be in place otherwise and the body sits flush and clean with the base. It sits very level and straight.
The base has LOTS of thread rust under what looks to be the original flat black paint. The hubcaps look almost new maybe re-plated? And the tires look excellent. The friction motor works fine. The rear bumper has a nasty area of rust (drivers side) below the original taillight, but is solid and hard to see while on display. There are a few scratches (mainly lower front fender pass side), but other than the roof (has issues) the remainder of the car is very straight and clean.Plating is excellent (except lower bumper mentioned) and the interior is like new with the correct plastic steering wheel and detailed dashboard. Plastic taillights are like new and the gold highlighted details still look decent (trunk emblem and headlights/front emblem).
This car is a decent example of what is a very difficult toy to find. The original cream and red just look GREAT. Good luck and thanks for looking! Zip code (close to me). We have letters and numbers, and it only takes zips. It will be packed up well. You just pay for the stamp. This is looking for a new home, not a World tour. I will work with you. I want everyone to be happy. Cheers, and good luck, Bob.
