Car does work under battery power, however I found that the steering mechanism needs some TLC. The car gets stuck turning right.

It can be manipulated to turn left but it seems to continue to get stuck on turning right, I do not have the expertise to fix said issue. I used WD-40 to help lubricate the steering mechanism so please do not be alarmed when you see/smell the lubricant. Car has a couple scuffs, light scratches. I captured those in the pictures so please see those for more details.

The battery compartment does not have a diagram for how the batteries sit, so I took a photo showing the order/orientation of the D batteries in the correct order.
