Structo's top of the range... NOW ALMOST 100 YEARS OLD. INCREDIBLY LARGE & HEAVY PRESSED STEEL CONSTRUCTION. FITTED WITH THE UNIQUE TRIPLE SPRING CLOCKWORK WIND-UP MOTOR. COMPLEX GEARED TRANSMISSION & DIFFERENTIAL..........
AND FORWARD & REVERSE SHIFT LEVER. Car comes with a original structo tool kit box, and contents as shown....... Wooden screwdriver (split handle), a wing-nut fastener(possibly to secure the missing rear mounted spare wheel). Possibly to give easy access or display that great looking gear arrangement.The car still displays its period finish, really attractive aged orange/bronze finish... Contrasted with the original black fender/full-length running boards.
Its old steering wheel is linked to the front wheels. Car still has its original four disc wheels (with time, i'm sure you could locate another for the missing rear mounted spare). THE CAR WAS IN ITS PRESENT ARRANGEMENT WHEN I RECEIVED IT.......
THE TRANSMISSION IS IN A NEUTRAL POSITION, ALLOWING FREE-WHEELING OF THE WHEELS/CAR. Please try clicking on the following video link, for a short clip of the old car. I HAVE NOT ATTEMPTED TO MOVE THE GEAR SHIFTER, THROUGH FEAR OF DAMAGE OR INCORRECT POSITIONING OF GEARS? BUT I HAVE TRIED THE MOTOR, WITH ITS THREE SPRING ARRANGEMENT... AND IT DOES STILL WIND-UP, AND RETAIN TENSION IT TAKES A CONSIDERABLE EFFORT TO WIND THE POWERFUL TRIPLE SPRING! WITH THE SIMPLE BRAKE LEVER MOVED TO RELEASE POSITION, THE MOTOR BEGAN TO UNWIND AND TURN THE PROP SHAFT....... THOUGH SHAFT MOVEMENT IS A BIT NOTCHY, AND WILL NO DOUBT WANT SOME SETTING UP/LUBE/ATTENTION. Or what parts are missing or if incorrect etc.... Missing bits have been left missing windshield/spare wheel etc... And not replaced with kit bits/meccano or anything else.ALL OFFERS WELCOME & CONSIDERED. CAR IS ALMOST 100 YEARS OLD.....
