This is a very rare example surviving from that time, given to my late Brother in Law and it's been kept by my wife's family in storage ever since. These were expensive toys at the time and the level of detail is impressive. They're also large toys!
The box measures 13" long x 5.5" wide x 4.5 high with the car filling it entirely. Battery powered motor (2x D cells) - Untested. Manually lockable steering, including reverse action. Rear aerial is fully intact and in good condition (often lost or snapped). Paintwork is excellent throughout (only a few very small blemishes and one short, shallow scratch). The chrome has flaked off in places along the side strips, hood badge, steering wheel and rear lights. The rest of the chrome (Bumpers, windscreen edges, siren) is all superb. Battery compartment has surface rusting to one side, inside and out. The tyres are also in very good, solid and surprisingly unperished condition. The driving platform operates correctly (lock pin slides, it turns around nicely). No electrical bits have been tested. The box is in very good condition with hardly any fading. There is a small hole in the front about 8mm x 2mm which is hardly noticable as it lines up with the top of the windscreen.Very light wear on the corners. Photo of the inner diagram of the top box.
