Another big Japanese tin car by Ichiko. This beautifully styled 1962 Cadillac 4-door hardtop measures approximately 20" long (50.8 cm) by 5 tall (12.7 cm) and 6.5" wide (16.5 cm). This is a fabulous looking Cadillac, with a wonderful lithographed interior and a set of fender mounted rear view mirrors. The lithographed interior is beautiful and adds a bright color accent to the ivory and showroom red paint. There is a long, thin slightly lighter red area on top of the right front fender where it looks as if something was spilled on it at one time.

I've tried to show this is the overhead photo, but the color difference is so slight it is hard to see. The red of course is totally original, however the Ivory top looks to be repainted. The car features detailed and beautiful tin trim including headlamps; tail lamps, grill and fender trim which are in very nice condition. I do believe the anodized gold trim pieces have been refinished. There are just a very few minor abrasions and tiny hairline scratches in the original red paint, and there is a touch up on the drivers side tail fin that is clearly visible in the photos.

Regardless, this car is stunning setting on a shelf. I'm assuming that the mirrors are replacements as few of the original plastic mirrors survived. The baseplate is original and in excellent condition. Tires, wheels and hubcaps are very nice and the friction works, as it should.
