The car also features an antenna, however it is probably a replacement. The trim is very nice and the celluloid in the windows is original. Tires and hubcaps look like new. And of course the baseplate is outstanding.
There are a few minor touchups on the car and a couple of larger ones (see photo 3) in the red litho on the passenger side. There are thin striations under the lithography on the hood and trunk that are hardly visible and do not detract from the beauty of the car. The original box lid has been reinforced from the bottom and there is old paper tape residue on the corners.
Boxes for these larger cars just didn't seem to survive. This is a hard to find car that in my opinion captures the look and feel of the golden age of Japanese tin cars. The item "1960 Buick Invicta 17.5 Highway Patrol Car with Original Box by Ichiko NR" is in sale since Sunday, March 19, 2017.
