Another big Japanese tin car by ATC along with a very nice reproduction box. This beautifully styled 1958 Buick Century 2 door sedan measures approximately 14.5" long (36.8 cm) by 4 tall (10.2 cm) and 6" wide (15.2 cm). This car is absolutely big and beautiful, however it has been restored at some time in the past.
The paint and colors are very nice, and the colorful, lithographed interior coordinates beautifully with the light grey roof and the pale yellow body color. All of the tin trim including bumpers, grill and windshield trim are in good condition. The trim seems to have been cleaned and polished so there are a few places where the copper under plating is visible and a few areas that had rust or tarnishing, all of which are visible in the photography. The celluloid in the windows has been replaced, but it looks very good.
The rubber wheels are good and the front hubcaps are very nice, however the 2 rear hubcaps though original have faded. Even with all of that said, the car displays beautifully. The baseplate has been refinished and the friction works, as it should.
The reproduction box has been shrink wrapped for protection. The item "1958 Buick Century 2-Door 14 1/2 Japanese Tin Car by ATC NR" is in sale since Sunday, December 04, 2016.
