It is of course an all-wooden car. And it was found with the original GM wooden return box.
The box indicates that the model car was an original Illinois entry. These hard to find cars seldom have all of the original parts, but this one is totally complete. The pale green paint with the metallic green roof is really nice. The car looks to have been influenced by the early 1950's Lincolns of the time. Ive always admired the GM Craftsman Guild program for the creativity it instilled. Every time I see one of these cars they spur my own imagination. The paint is cracked in a numerous places and it does have a few small dents and bumps, but the car still makes a great impression. The wooden return box includes all of the correct labels along with 2 Railway Express labels. Ive always left the Craftsman Guild cars as I found them as I consider them as much art as car models. Regardless, its time to move some of these cars on to other collectors.
