The 55 is the first such number I have had, I believe. I do not know if there was any meaning behind what number the racer was assigned but if anyone knows I will be happy to pass it on. This racer is in very good original condition.
The surface of the tin has a really nice gloss and a great patina. There is an richness to the surface that cannot be faked, it only comes with time.
This race car has a great surface with beautiful vivid colors. There are small scratches and rubs in the paint; it is certainly not perfect. The tires and hubcaps are in excellent condition with one exception. The back hubcap on the right hand side has a small hole in the tin surface of the wheel cover. The base is in very good condition and the friction motor works very well.
The Yonezawa version of the racer is pictured on page 213 of the great Big Book of Tin Toy Cars Commercial and Racing Vehicles. Questions are welcome and I will be happy to provide additional photos.
