1903 LEHMANN - Naughty Boy Carriage - Original Working Condition - see video. Wonderful condition fully working toy. Art work is clean and in very good condition - age related patina and marks but no scratches or rust.
Wind up the spring, give it a gentle push and the toy goes straight, then in circles and then straight again - works best on a smooth surface, not carpeted. The boy is attached to the steering mechanism and it appears he is attempting to over ride the carriage operator, hence the "naughty boy". Mechanism is in great working order, wheels are sound and turn as designed.
The main drive gear shows some wear but not enough wear to affect the operation. By comparison to toys of this era with similar drive gears, this is in excellent condition. Check out the video at the end of this listing.
