Lovely rare 1900s ANTIQUE ZETT LIMOUSINE GERMANY TINPLATE CAR TIN TOY wind up
INCREDIBLY RARE TIN TOY CAR, plus an accompanying garage. Can't find any literature on them either in my ref. GREAT LOOKING IN TRIPLE COLOUR.....
CLOCKWORK / WIND UP MECHANISM. Wind up mechanism has a winding shaft on right side, but is so tiny and cylindrical in shape...
Not even sure if it used a key? Very old delicate mechanism, but i carefully wound it up by hand from underneath (using thumb to turn the spring winder).... And the motor still works (probably benefit from touch oil), and car still runs across the work top..... TAKE CARE NOT TO OVER STRESS. SUCH A CHARMING EARLY PIECE... Car displays lovely, with just little 100+ years age/play wear.... Just odd litho mark, scuff, chip etc.. A little dirt/dis-colour to roof..... May even clean (but will leave to new owner). Exposed metal surfaces show little oxide tarnishing (PLEASE SEE IMAGES). Little eight spoke tinplate wheels and axles all look original. Full length running boards and wheel arches all correct. Original driver looks splendid at the steering wheel.I'LL ALSO INCLUDE MY RARE AND PRETTY TINPLATE GARAGE WITH THE CAR, AS I'VE HAD THEM DISPLAYED TOGETHER. GARAGE MOST PROBABLY HAD DOORS ORIGINALLY? BUT I'VE NEVER SEEN ANOTHER.
LITTLE LIMOUSINE DISPLAYS GREAT ON IT'S, OR WITH SIMILAR ANTIQUE VEHICLES. I CAN'T IMAGINE THERE'S TOO MANY OF THESE RARE ANTIQUE CARS IN COLLECTIONS.These pictures also form part of the description... If you need more pics etc...
